At DM Produce, food safety is an important part of our operations and we take it seriously. We work hard to provide our customers with the most reliable, packed fresh herbs for fresh market. In our effort to maintain leading operational practices, we have integrated various measures and procedures to provide an acceptable level of food safety in our facility and operations.
Because we are committed to maintaining the safety of the fresh products we are entrusted, we have implemented a Food Safety Program into our packing and cold holding operations. We want to make certain that all possible precautions are taken to provide a good level of hygiene and sanitation in the handling of fresh products.
The goal of our program is to integrate a pro-active system of food safety in our operations so that potential food hazards (physical, chemical, or biological) are minimized, neutralized* or anticipated. To attain this goal, our program integrates frequent monitoring of potential hazards in the operations, environment, and product from the time the products arrive at the facility until they are shipped to their final destinations.
Our Food Safety Program includes supporting programs such as the Cleaning & Sanitation, Good Handling Practices, Worker Educational Training Microbial Analysis, Preventative Maintenance, Pest Control, and Product Trace-Back & Recall.
Our Food Safety Program has been established and implemented with the participation of the company management, staff, and employees. Management of the food safety program is under the direction of the Warehouse Management and supervisors with cooperation of a contracted food safety consultant. Operation and enforcement of the program norms and guidelines are the responsibility of facility operators.
